Well I've done it again.  I've abandoned anything to do with the blog world for the past 2 weeks, and probably won't even visit for the next two weeks.  Yikes! That's a lot of reading to catch up and posts to write.  But I thought I might post a few pictures in the meantime.  First, is just a daily outfit I took about a week ago for my dad's birthday.  Then, pictures of the 20's/30's hats I found at an estate sale.  Last, we had Christmas already with my mom's side.  There were about 30 of us which was just amazing and completely fun and chaotic.  I wore a pencil skirt and bolero that I made up in about a day, and finished hand sewing on the way up there.  It seemed like almost everyone was there which was a first.  That hardly ever happens.  Usually there is only about 15. And, I always seem to be a kid magnet, I don't know why.  I think I get along with them better, or maybe it is my strong desire to have kids that it just comes naturally. Haha.  I think I did about 15 rounds of ring around the rosy.  Anyways, that's about it for now.  I hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed Christmas this year!
one of the original boxes the hats came in!
my sweet new baby cousin Rachael.  Isn't she beautiful
the best gifts I could have gotten!  Some of my grandmother's 50's hats and matching hat boxes:D
my cousin Karie
The choker, bracelet, and earring set that was my grandmother's.  It is absolutely beautiful and I will only wear it on very special occasions.
My cousins Trina and Justin
one of the thirty times playing ring around the rosy.  I don't know how I became the only adult to get stuck playing
My little first cousins, once removed (I think)

That's it for now

Isaiah 9:6: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

that's cool about the blog reading. It is good to spend time away from such things now and then. I love your dress. You look so lovely in all these shots!!

I can’t get over how lovely you look in every photo! I love your home made skirt and bolero. They are to die for.

Yes I own the Children of Dune miniseries on DVD. They did a pretty good job with it (mixed in Messiah and CoD together like that). I have read the first 4 Dune books now. I'm honestly not very big into Dune, while my husband is very much so and has read all of the original series and all but two of the latest by Frank Herbert's son and his friend. I am reading slowly through the original Dune series only for my husband, since we did name our firstborn Leto afterall (after Leto II). I'll probably read the last two books at some point this year.
